About & sources
An independent, non-partisan, fully sourced voter guide. No party affiliations, no rankings, no editorials about who to vote for.
Who publishes this
kelownaelections.ca is a non-partisan voter guide for the City of Kelowna municipal election. It profiles every mayoral, councillor, and school-trustee candidate neutrally. It does not endorse or oppose any candidate or party, and it takes no positions on campaign issues — it only reports them, each with a citation.
The guide is independently operated. It is not affiliated with any candidate, campaign, political party, or organization. It receives no funding, sponsorships, or grants. It runs no advertising, and nothing here is paid for, reviewed, or approved by any campaign or third party.
It is published by a Kelowna resident who chooses not to be named — deliberately and permanently. That is not a shield; it is the point. A voter guide should be judged by the accuracy and fairness of its information, not by who publishes it. Every claim on this site is sourced and verifiable, and every candidate is held to the same standard. The only question that matters about any line here is whether it is true and fair — not who assembled it.

Editorial standard
- Every factual claim on a candidate profile carries a citation to a verifiable public source — council records, official filings, established news reporting, or the candidate's own published material (labelled as such).
- Candidate statements are attributed to the candidate, never presented as established fact.
- A profile was published only after it completed research and editorial review against this standard; no profile was published with unverified or partial summaries.
- Money-in-politics coverage will draw on Elections BC disclosure statements filed under the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act. No such statements have been published for the 2026 election; when they are, this guide will be updated.
- Errors are corrected visibly: substantive corrections are noted on the page, not silently edited away.
Primary sources
- City of Kelowna — 2026 Local General Election (candidate list, voting places, election bylaw questions)
- Elections BC (campaign finance disclosure under LECFA)
- City of Kelowna council meeting records, agendas and minutes
- Established local news reporting, cited per claim
- Candidates' registered campaign websites and public social accounts — attributed to the candidate
